"Everybody Knows (You Said Goodbye)" was the Dave Clark Five's last release to hit the USA Billboard Hot 100 chart stalling at #43 in 1967-1968; it remained on the chart for 8 weeks (Whitburn, 2013). It did much better in the UK hitting the #2 position on their chart (Wikipedia, 2021). In a change, Lenny Davidson, the lead guitarist, sang lead instead of Mike Smith (R. Unterberger, allmusic.com, 2021).
