Truth About Bloodwork

So many people have gotten bloodwork done.

It sounds reasonable. If a person doesn't feel well, of course they head to the medical doctor's office to seek answers.

Blood is drawn and sent to the lab. The answer comes back: everything looks just fine.

I see it all the time in my practice.

Bloodwork can look normal, even if everything isn't normal in the body.

There's a huge difference between "in the normal range" and "feeling fine."

We don't go from a state of health to a state of disease in the span of minutes, or even days.

Health cannot be defined in a range -- not with any accuracy, at least.

A functional perspective is what we functional medicine doctors take when it comes to testing and test results.
