The Czechoslovak Socialist Republic (Czech and Slovak: Československá socialistická republika, ČSSR) was the name of Czechoslovakia from 1960 to April 1990, when the country was under Communist rule.
The state anthem was a combination of the two anthems, already in official use. The first verse of the Czech anthem was played first followed immediately by the first verse of the Slovak anthem. The official name was "Štátna hymna Československej socialistickej republiky" (National Anthem of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic).
