When Christians Don't Agree - July 18, 2021

Why do we have so many different denominations? Why is it that all Christians don’t believe exactly the same on everything? This situation is not something new. Even in New Testament times, there were questions on which Christians didn’t all share the same beliefs. Some beliefs are so essential that any deviation is considered to be heresy. But Paul tells us that there are what he calls “disputable matters” on which it is possible for Christians to disagree. In this message, we will be examining what happens when Christians disagree; the role of personal convictions in our faith; and how to know if something qualifies as a “disputable matter” on which differences of opinion and conviction should be accepted within the church.

Here are the Bible passages that were used in the preparation of this message:
John 16:13
Romans 14:1-23
1 Corinthians 13:12
