The gathering of the lost
comes at a very high cost
You are no longer the one raised
I am no longer the one praised

Why is a question I must ask
was I given this burdensome task
The pain it truly breaks my heart
the way things were torn apart

Emotions have been beaten down
in many tears I almost did drown
You’re not forgotten in my life
regardless of argument and strife

I don’t understand what it’s about
deep inside I scream and shout
I will always be here with open arms
if shelter is ever needed from life’s harms
