The Journey of Leadership Competency

As leaders we have the honor to serve others empowering them to achieve their highest and best. Leadership is not position, platform, or title but using these things for the good of others. Leadership is a journey throughout our lifetime as we grow in competencies step-by-step in both skills and character. What does this journey look like?

"In psychology, the four stages of competence, or the "conscious competence" learning model, relates to the psychological states involved in the process of progressing from incompetence to competence in a skill." When we understand the process we will have the courage to through and not stop short in order to obtain the conscious awareness of the value of our competencies.

Dr. Melodye Hilton is the founder and owner of Hilton Consulting LLC with a vision to make a sustainable positive impact within the lives of leaders, organizations, and people groups. Melodye is a leadership consultant, behavioral analyst, CVI master trainer, executive coach, and author. She also is the founder of Voice of Justice Foundation to confront human trafficking and the #StopDevaluation movement - a movement of courageous voices that will confront prejudice and cross the divides through validation.
