Major Accident by the Corner Shell, BLANCHARD, July 4, 2021 - At approximately 6:45 pm on July 4, 2021, a black 2021 Toyota Tundra, driven by Scott Davis, 60, of Pasadena, was east-bound on US-190 West. As Davis was passing the Corner Shell, a tan 2007 BMW X5, driven by Evan Struss, 21, of Tomball, attempted to cross over 190 to FM-2457 but failed to yield to Davis. Davis' pickup impacted the passenger's side front fender area of Struss' vehicle. The impact spun Struss' vehicle around facing his opposite direction of travel as Struss' vehicle came to rest on the pavement of 2457. Davis' vehicle continued in a rightward direction and came to rest in the grass on the right side of 190. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department, Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Troopers Cotye Lowrie, Donny Akers, Nick Hatton, and Johnny Wilkerson with the Texas Highway Patrol. An elderly female passenger in Davis' vehicle was transported to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Traffic was partially blocked on the west-bound side of 190 during investigation and cleanup. Struss was cited for failure to yield. Davis' vehicle was recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston. Struss' vehicle was recovered by Dan's Towing and will be stored in Livingston.
