For those who HAVEN'T seen the movie "Crocodile Dundee," or haven't watched it in a very long time, where it has parts that are not super desirable, the movie is not a terrible representation of parts of both Australia and the United States (as well as the people who live there).Show more

That picture is 35 YEARS OLD by this point.

I intended to talk about two scenes from that movie, but only got around to one. For the other, I would simply say this, "Where folks' class made SOME difference at that point, for the most part, it just wasn't all that significant in how people viewed certain things."

I talk about that movie, and the window it opens on attitudes about certain things (transvestites, and to some degree, homosexuality, and even to a MUCH lesser one, things like transgenderism and gender fluidity).

Fact is, even back then, MOST PEOPLE COULD NOT HAVE BROUGHT THEMSELVES TO CARE ABOUT SUCH THINGS.

I don't see some monumental change in more recent times.
