DeSantis BANS trans athletes from girls’ sports; Abbott to penalize cities that “Defund the Police”

In Florida, Gov. Ron DeSantis signed new protections on Tuesday for women's sports, The Fairness in Women's Sports Act. The new law guarantees biological girls will not have to compete with biological boys in sports.

In another Republican stronghold Texas, House Democrats staged a walkout ahead of a midnight deadline that kept the election reform bill from passing. Gov. Greg Abbott announced he would veto funding for the state Legislature. In a tweet, Abbott said, “No pay for those who abandon their responsibilities. Stay tuned.”
