In this video I am going over some of the basics for starting a bonsai tree. This is very much a beginners guide to bonsai, any advanced bonsai techniques will be in future videos, such as how to wire bonsai trees. In this video I am using boxwood shrubs. Boxwood bonsais are great for beginners who want something to keep outside. For both of the plants in the video, I am just starting bonsai from regular trees and shrubs, nothing fancy or expensive here. As I go about starting these bonsai trees, I explain my thoughts and logic behind various steps and methods I am using. Some people do things differently, like root pruning first, then potting, then pruning. There are a lot of methods to bonsai, this is just what works for me as pertaining to keeping things simplified anyway.
