Originally aired June 19th, 1938

Three men die in a tomb allegedly due to a curse, but Lamont Cranston thinks otherwise. Frank Readick Jr. read the line using a water glass next to his mouth to create the echo effect.

The Shadow started as a mysterious radio show narrator on July 31st, 1930. In 1931, Walter B. Gibson was hired to flesh out the character when then appeared in The Shadow Magazine on April 1st, 1931. The radio series began on September 26th, 1937.

The Shadow is Lamont Cranston, wealthy playboy who uses his vast resources, and his ability to cloud minds, to fight crime. About sixty percent of the radio shows are lost, though the original scripts still exist.
