Captain Friday and Skip Turner end up crashing their plane on a remote island, only to wind up in the middle of a conflict between the men of a shipwreck and a young lady.
An adventure series produced, written, and directed by Carlton E. Morse in the mid-40s (the dates above are estimated. The series focues on Captain Bard Friday, a globe-trotting San Francisco private investigator. He is accompanied by his Texas-born sidekick Skip Turner. The stories cover espionage, kidnapping, murder, and even Nazi bases and snake worshipers.
Actual broadcast dates are uncertain. Some believe the episodes aired in 1944, but the final chapters of "It's Dismal to Die" state that the Second World War has ended.

Starring Orson Welles. A young boy is the fourth lost along a cliffside, leading Lamont Cranston to believe it was no accident.
The Shadow started as a mysterious radio show narrator on July 31st, 1930. In 1931, Walter B. Gibson was hired to flesh out the character when then appeared in The Shadow Magazine on April 1st, 1931. The radio series began on September 26th, 1937.
The Shadow is Lamont Cranston, wealthy playboy who uses his vast resources, and his ability to cloud minds, to fight crime. About sixty percent of the radio shows are lost, though the original scripts still exist.
