Tennessee Trophy Smallmouth

What a day! I headed to the river at around 5:45 AM and 1/2 mile from the house a deer crossed the road as I drove by! Luckily, I almost came to at stop but still hit it hard enough to knock it off it’s feet and it rolled into the field. There was no damage to the truck so I hope the deer was not seriously injured either. It sprang to it’s feet and ran off with the other 4 in it’s company.
Thomas Horsch and I met up with Clyde Timbs, his wife, Sherry and son, Clyde from Knoxville for a river float. It was to be their first above Cherokee lake. We had a great day on the river with a total of 74 fish between 4 of us since Clyde’s wife only floated and didn’t participate in fishing. I landed a 20 1/4” smallmouth and later, a 17 1/4” for my biggest 2 and Thomas pulled in a 19 1/4” and several others in the 15”-17” range. Clyde caught a huge catfish and a big carp plus a nice smallie of exact size I’m not aware. A great 9 1/2 mile float with good friends old and new enjoying God’s Creations!
