Backroad Driving North Bend Washington pt 5

4 wheeling through the deep snow around the corner to find that the road had been closed. Time to double back and take the next trail. There are plenty of great forest service trails in this area. Enough to drive on for weeks without going back down to civilization, unless you had to. What a beautiful area this is.

This is part of the Mt. Baker National forest in Snoqualmie. We’re driving by the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie River. It’s about a 12 mile road, you follow the same road in as you do out. About 10 miles the road turns into a very rough road that you’d need 4 wheel drive to traverse parts of. Large washouts, and running streams crossing the road make it all the more fun to explore. The green moss growing on every tree around lays testament to why people call Seattle “rain city” or the “Emerald city”
