Battle of the Joshes | Hundreds of guys fight over the right to keep the name

A horde of guys all sharing the name Josh gathered in Lincoln, Nebraska to take part in a ‘Josh Battle Royale’ for the ‘right’ to their name.

Armed with pool noodles, Joshes from across the country met at Air Park, where they brawled for the right to be regarded as the ‘One True Josh.’ However, aside from just joshing around, the event had a noble cause to it as well: the combatants donated between 200 to 300 pounds of food to the Lincoln Food Bank and raised more than $8,000 for the Children's Hospital & Medical Center Foundation in Omaha.

The idea for a Josh vs. Josh vs. Josh battle originated from a Twitter post made by Josh Swain, a University of Arizona student, who created a Facebook messenger group with other people sharing his exact same name and challenged them to a fight. What started out as a meme became a reality one year later, as hundreds responded to the challenge.

In the end, it was four-year-old Lincoln resident Josh Vinson, Jr., dubbed ‘Little Josh’ by his peers, who was crowned the winner.
