Waverley Novels V 26 & 27: Fortunes of Nigel, Sir Walter Scott, c.1879 Leather Hardcover Books

2 Waverley Leather Hardcover Novels. Dated 1879, published by Adam & Charles Black, Edinburg Scotland. Books have a few issues. 1 book has the back cover nearly coming off, and just shipping them could deliver the final blow, and separate it for good. The opposite end papers to that cover have a portion missing. There are a few pages with slits in bottom or near center of book from turning pages. Some age stains throughout the book - a few on some - some of the pages near front have more than others. All pages are tanned. The overall text is good, and binding of the pages. However, 1 of the title pages on 1 book, has come away from the rest, just in the listing/photographing process. The pages are brittle -and the front few pages have obviously been turned more, than the rest of the pages - so they have become worn. Just be aware of this, and when handling. They are just old, and paper doesn't last forever. Covers, other than the 1 separating...have normal handling edge wear, and soiling from age. Corners are surprisingly pretty straight - although they have a little wear to them. Other than pages shown/and cover coming apart from the binding....the other pages are good/entact to the binding. These are antique books, in fragile condition - and buyer should realize this when purchasing. Due to the delicate nature of these 2 books - I will not be accepting returns, as the shipping process can further damage them. I do have a few other books from this same set that are available.
