Fly Fishing for Texas Pond Bass

Howdy fishin' friends. Join me on an afternoon of chasing largemouth bass with a fly rod on one of my neighborhood ponds. Its spring time in Texas and some bass have already spawned, while others are getting ready to spawn. We'll be doing a mix of sight fishing and blind casting streamers. Thanks for joining me today. Equipment used in today's video:

Bass Pro Shops White River HEAT Stage 1 7'10" one-piece 9 weight fly rod
Bass Pro Shops White River Hobbs Creek large arbor 7/8 size fly reel
20 lb Cabela's branded Dacron backing
Cabela's Saltwater series weight forward floating 10 weight fly line
The leader used is hand tied (by me) consisting of a 4 foot butt section of 25lb test Berkley Big Game monofilament and 4 feet of Seaguar Red Label 15lb test fluorocarbon

I use a Uni-to-Uni connection for the butt and tippet sections, and a No Slip Mono Loop Knot for attaching the fly

The fly that got all the fish today is a pattern I crafted to mimic the soft plastic jerk bait or fluke, tied on a Gamakatsu 4/0 EWG worm hook, with the body materials wrapped over a furled monofilament core made from 15lb Berkley monofilament.
