Tokyo, March 20, 2021 - A very strong earthquake - resulting in a tsunami warning - was recorded this morning in Japan in the Ishinomaki area off the northeast coast. The earthquake, whose magnitude was currently quantified as 7.2 on the Richter scale. According to preliminary information, the epicenter of the earthquake was located in particular about sixty kilometers off the coast of the city of Sendai, in the prefecture of Miyagi. The earthquake was felt at 10.09 Italian time (18.09 local time) at a depth of 60 kilometers. The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), has in fact launched a tsunami warning (later revoked) and classified the intensity of the quake in 5 on the Japanese maximum measurement scale of 7.
