The Art in Laguna Beach

Laguna Beach, the art capital of the region - and arguably, all of California - is a small coastal city in Orange County that’s also known for its beautiful beaches and coves. As a contemporary palette knife colorist, I haven’t made a lot of my subjects beachy or even nautical, but I’m sure you can understand why such a beautiful place is the muse of many artists of all kinds here.

It goes without saying that life is an expression of art, Laguna is proof that people like to portray what they see and what they love.

Due to the global pandemic, many public places are limited or closed altogether. Fortunately, some of my favorite exhibits and galleries have taken extra precautions to keep their patrons safe from COVID-19. One of those galleries I visit in the video, Quorum, is doing just that. They’re one of the oldest galleries in Laguna Beach, and have been open since June of 1963.

I think that art and self expression is more important now than ever, with much of the world off-limits for quarantine and public health. As someone who loves to express herself in many different ways, I can empathize with this fully. It makes me incredibly happy to be a part of a community that wants to help do its part in maintaining the balance during these tough times.
