About Leonardo
PARIS!
“About Leonardo”
“The Art, The Artist, The Lifestyle” short films…all five of them spoke of my philosophies, my dreams, my path thus setting the tone of this docuseries.
Now, we shift a little bit. We veer towards the humorous, casual, light French cuisine. More importantly, it is short film about the café where iconic movie “Inception” which starred equally iconic actor, Leonardo di Caprio, was filmed.
Looking at the neighborhood, one would wonder how Leonardo di Caprio’s team decided to film at this café. When one thinks of Hollywood, one thinks posh more so because this is in Paris. But apparently, the story line of Leonardo di Caprio’s film did not call for posh. It called for such an unpretentious café probably equal to the role Leonardo di Caprio played in “Inception”. The owner, Eric, I think his name is was a bit standoffish in the beginning. But soon he warmed up to my equally warm personality. He was humorous, obviously an incredible, natural chef. His café is small, simple but apparently a great many parties and dinners are held there. It is so unpretentious that the meat cutter is off to the side of the café but in plain sight. Maybe this is what drew Leonardo di Caprio’s team to this place.
It is noteworthy to mention that Leonardo di Caprio just recently got nominated during the 92nd Oscar Academy Awards for his role in the movie, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”.

The Art, The Artist, The Lifestyle... The Celebration of Life
"The Art, The Artist, The Lifestyle... The Celebration of Life"
People ask me where I get my drive to work as hard as I do for the things I love. For me, one of the most important things is DOING, when something feels right! Especially when you have found your TRUE PURPOSE, embrace it. The pursuit of that purpose will gift you with energy and passion as you've never had before. It becomes a tireless, but fulfilling journey that is truly one of life's greatest gifts.

Chateau in France, Villa in Spain
PARIS!
“Chateau in France, Villa in Spain”
The short film, “Chateau in France, Villa in Spain” is a story of dreams, realization of dreams and living the dream.
It starts, without our knowing. It starts with a thought. It may be a simple, sweet wish. It may be borne out of frustration. But never let it be born out of fear. However it starts, it starts with a seed of thought. That is how it started for me.
I was in the lowest point in my life. I had just divorced the love of my life. My financial adviser asked what my goal was. Wishful thinking as I always do, humorous as my way of assuaging my pain, this was the time when Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie just got together and had a chateau in France, Chateau Miravelle. Brad Pitt is an avid art collector. And prior to this, I dreamed and dreamed and dreamed that Brad Pitt would find me. I even dreamed that I would have a small guest house at the chateau where Brad Pitt, as my benefactor, would let me live and paint and paint. I am very visual so I clearly had that inside my soul for years.
Brad Pitt has not found me yet. But when the question was posed, I replied, “I want a Chateau in France and Villa in Spain!” I would tell this story through the years with Brad Pitt central to the story. And people would look at me like I am crazy or they look at me incredulous as to have such big dreams.
Now this dream has brought me to Paris…at the highest point of Paris, Montmartre! At sunrise no less! This dream has brought me and my art to Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Rome, Sofia, Bulgaria and Miami before…and soon to Peru and New York! This dream allows me to express my life in beautiful photo shoots, exciting filming of my philosophies and lifestyle! This dream lives inside me! It pulsates inside me. And I believe unwaveringly that this dream will continue to take me to unlimited possibilities! Brad Pitt in tow!
So dare to dream! Meditate on it! Pray! Eyes closed…in the dark, in the light! Breathe, cry if you have to! Because one of these days, one of these days, you, too, will have your Chateau in France, Villa in Spain just as where I am now!
It is interesting to note, that shortly prior to this writing Brad Pitt won the Best Supporting Actor Award for his role in “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” in the 92nd Oscar Academy Awards. His first win!

Joy of Shipping Your Art
I often get the question from people about how easy it is shipping fine art internationally or locally. First, when one considers showing art internationally, they have to really look at their art as a business because shipping art internationally is expensive!
You have to also understand the culture of the country you're shipping to! This can be one of the greatest but more rewarding challenges to shipping art internationally.
Finally, shipping art internationally is one thing, but getting it returned is a whole other story! Also: how will you store your art? Do you have a trustworthy relationship with the agent or gallery so that you do not feel that your art is at risk?
In the end, there is a joy to shipping art internationally, but it doesn't come easy!

The most important things in life often cannot be grasped. It is up to us to pursue this loving grace above all else. Family, friends, and love are a permanent staple of life and should always come first. Brought Back To Life At The Sepulveda Dam
The Sepulveda Dam was a project of United States Army Corps of Engineers in the 1940’s. Today it stands to withhold winter flood waters along the Los Angeles River. In today's installation of my California Coast Docuseries, I wander around the Sepulveda Wildlife Area and get a glimpse on how I get inspiration by seeing art in every little thing!

San Juan Capistrano Eats & Antiques
San Juan Capistrano is a town that directly derives a lot of its culture from Mexico and South America. El Adobe de Capistrano is one of many restaurants in this area that features Mexican cuisine and theme, with some American fusions on the menu.
The area is also popular for antiques, thrifting and vintage shopping - which I suggest everyone try once in a while. You never know what treasures you might find!

The Mission San Juan Capistrano
Mission San Juan Capistrano is a Spanish mission in San Juan Capistrano, Orange County, California. Founded in 1776 by Spanish Catholic missionaries of the Franciscan Order, it was named for Saint John of Capistrano. This Mission is the 7th of 11 missions along the California coast, built to spread Catholicism the Native Americans.
Today, the city San Juan Capistrano is still considered a place of pilgrimage for all walks of life. Even swallows migrate all the way here from Goya, Argentina! Spirituality aside, the city is a hot spot for food, architecture and culture.
I definitely plan on spending some more time here, and would love for you guys to follow my adventure. Stay tuned for more!

Outdoor Dining! The Rage in Laguna!
Outdoor dining has been the standard in many places around the world for a long time. Now, its become the only option for many restaurants to safely offer service during the pandemic.
Here in Laguna Beach, entire streets have been cordoned off to allow ample space to seat their patrons. Some places have new art and garden installations, chic and utilitarian design choices, giving us front row seats to great weather year round. I must say - and I'm sure I'm not alone in this - I prefer it this way.

Sapphire Restaurant... Brunch anyone?
Brunch is a meal that serves both breakfast and lunch items, usually held late mornings. Simple and satisfying.
Only the late Anthony Bourdain, someone who I've drawn a lot of travel and cuisine inspiration from, could possibly change my mind about how awesome it is.
He once said brunch is a "horrible, cynical way of unloading leftovers and charging three times as much as you ordinarily charge for breakfast."
We've never spent that part of the day as a chef, so me and my crew will just enjoy the food we paid for, and soak in some California sun.
These eggs are for you, old friend.

Rooftop Dining at Mozambique in Laguna Beach
To celebrate companionship, hard work and health during these unsure times, I took my crew to one of my favorite restaurants in Laguna Beach, Mozambique.
Food, fellowship, laughs and hot looks… we all needed a fun night out to wind down a little and enjoy one another. Mozambique features South African, as well as some American favorites, featured in a colonial setting.
It's times like these that we have to remember to embrace and take care of one another. Laughter is the best medicine, and everyone loves good food!
