The Georgia State Senate Has Decided That No-Excuse Absentee Voting Will No Longer Be Allowed In Their State.

The Senate's Vote Was 29-20 In Favor Of Approving The Legislation Which Would Allow Absentee Voting Only For Those That Are 65 Years Or Older, Have A Physical Disability Or Those Who Are Out Of Town.

In Addition, People Who Vote Absentee Have To Provide Voter Identification Such As A State Issued Id Number Or A Driver's License Number.

The Legislation Comes After Numerous Allegations Of Wide Spread Voter Fraud Were Launched, Stemming From The Presidential Election.

Supporters Of The Bill Assert That An Un-Monitored 'Mail In Voting System For All' Encourages Voter Fraud, And That This Legislative Action Is Needed To Prevent Voter Fraud.

Opponents Of The Bill Argue That Ending No-Excuse Absentee Voting Restricts Voting Rights.

More Than 1.3 Million People In Georgia Voted By Mail In The 2020 Election With Past Elections Having At Most 220,000 Absentee Voters.

The Bill Now Heads To Georgia’s House Of Representatives For A Vote.

In Order To Be Considered By Gov. Brian Kemp The Bill Would Need To Pass Before March 31, Which Is The End Of The Year’s Legislative Session.
