4-YEAR-OLD BOY BECOMES POLICE OFFICER CELEBRATING THE END OF HIS BATTLE WITH KIDNEY DISEASE
#NEW MUST WATCH VIDEO! 4-YEAR-OLD BOY BECOMES POLICE OFFICER CELEBRATING THE END OF HIS BATTLE WITH KIDNEY DISEASE
A 4-year-old boy lived his dream of becoming a police officer, thanks to a special initiative by the Orlando Police Department and Orlando City Soccer in collaboration with Make-A-Wish of Northern and Central Florida.
Unlike a typical day for Orlando police officers, which certainly doesn’t start with a ride in a chauffeur-driven limousine, this was an extraordinary day for Officer Stone Hicks. Two years after battling kidney failure and receiving a life-saving kidney transplant from his father, Stone was given the ultimate experience of being a police officer.
“Our kids go through so much when they battle their critical illness, and so we’re really here to celebrate him and help give him the strength and joy in his life,” said Anne Cuba, President of Make-A-Wish Northern and Central Florida.
The day began with the SWAT team presenting Stone with his pint-sized police uniform. Shortly after being sworn in by the police chief, he was given his first case — a dognapping. Within minutes, the new officer had solved the case and returned to headquarters to a hero’s welcome, complete with a shiny police car for photo ops.

Tornadoes kill 4 in Oklahoma, leaving trail of destruction and thousands without power
#NEW Tornadoes kill 4 in #Oklahoma, leaving trail of destruction and thousands without power
Tornadoes killed four people in Oklahoma and left thousands without power Sunday after a destructive outbreak of severe weather flattened buildings in the heart of one rural town and injured at least 100 people across the state.
More than 20,000 people remained without electricity after tornadoes began late Saturday night. The destruction was extensive in Sulphur, a town of about 5,000 people, where a tornado crumpled many downtown buildings, tossed cars and buses and sheared the roofs off houses across a 15-block radius.
“You just can’t believe the destruction,” Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt said during a visit to the hard-hit town. “It seems like every business downtown has been destroyed.”
Stitt said about 30 people were injured alone in Sulphur, including some who were in a bar as the tornado struck. Hospitals across the state reported about 100 injuries, including people apparently cut or struck by debris or hurt from falls, according to the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management.

National Football League Security Checks Detroit police ready to execute security plan for NFL Draft
National Football League (NFL) Security Checks
- As the NFL puts the finishing touches ahead of Thursday, Detroit police are doing final checks on their security plan, which they've been developing over the last year.
On Tuesday, K-9 Officer Hobbs was at the NFL Draft theater conducting one of the many sweeps fans will see during the three-day event.
He's assigned to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, one of the agencies helping Detroit police secure the high-profile event.
They'll get support from the so-called Casper unit, plainclothes officers who blend into the crowd that may hit max capacity.
Security screenings will take place at entrance points to ensure no weapons make it in, and police want parents to know this:
"We all need to be responsible for kids who may be out here, not to just drop them off and leave. Be responsible adults. We will be enforcing curfew. If your children are down here, have an adult with you at all times," Fulgenzi said.
If a child wanders off, have them approach an officer who can contact the dispatch center to help them reunite with their parents.
And parents, make sure you have a plan with your family in case cell service is spotty. #OnePride #Detroit

Israel Vows Response To Iran's Unprecedented Attack
Israel’s army chief on Monday vowed a response to Iran’s unprecedented attack against the country.
Six months of war between Israel and the Palestinian terror group Hamas in Gaza, sparked by the terror attack in Israel that killed 1,200 people and resulted in hundreds of people taken hostage.
“This launch of so many (Iranian) missiles, cruise missiles, and UAVs into the territory of the State of Israel will be met with a response,” Israeli army chief General Herzi Halevi said, addressing troops at the Nevatim military base hit in Iran’s Saturday barrage.
But the military also said it would not be distracted from its war against Hamas in Gaza.
Iran launched more than 300 drones and missiles at Israel late Saturday, according to Israel’s military which said nearly all were intercepted.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with his war cabinet late Monday to discuss possible reactions, local media said, as Israel issued its first official comment on the deadly Syria strike.
“These were people who engaged in terrorism against the State of Israel,” military spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said. “There was not a single diplomat there as far as I know.”
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps named two generals as among seven of its members killed in the consular attack.

Israel Withdrawals All Ground Troops From Southern Gaza, leaving Just One IDF Brigade In The Enclave
The Israel Defense Forces announced a full withdrawal of ground forces from southern Gaza on Sunday, leaving a smaller force to maintain operations in the whole of the strip.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also delivered remarks at the beginning of a cabinet meeting on Sunday, reiterating that Israel would not agree to any cease-fire unless Hamas frees all remaining hostages. The bulk of the troops withdrawing in the coming days will be leaving Khan Younis, which had served as Hamas' central bastion in the south.
"Today, Sunday April 7th, the IDF’s 98th commando division has concluded its mission in Khan Yunis. The division left the Gaza strip in order to recuperate and prepare for future operations," the IDF said in a statement.
Netanyahu promised his cabinet that the war in Gaza would continue, however, arguing that "there is no war more just than this one."
"I have made it clear to the international community: There will be no ceasefire without the return of the hostages. It simply will not happen. This is the policy of the Government of Israel and I welcome the fact that the Biden administration made it clear on Friday that this is still its position as well," Netanyahu said.
"I would like to clarify something else: It is not Israel that is preventing a deal. Hamas is preventing a deal. Its extreme demands are designed to bring about a ceasefire and leave it intact, to ensure its survival, existence and ability to endanger our citizens and soldiers. Capitulation to Hamas's demands would allow it to try and repeat the crimes of October 7 again and again, as it has promised to do," he added.
