Hansel and Gretel Chicken Ninja style - Read Aloud for Kids

This is a delightful play on the traditional Hansel and Gretel story told through the perspective of two young chickens. The witch in the forest with the candy covered house has been switched to a hungry fox in a house made of cornbread, a chickens absolute delight. The chicks have been trained in ninjitsu martial arts so they can protect themselves in these troubled times when parents are kidnapped by predators.

This is a great story written in graphic novel or comic book form to especially engage young readers who might be intimidated by traditional prose on the page. With bright kinetic pictures and bold diagonal layouts, this is a book that children with extra energy can really sink their teeth into. The ninja chicks go on at the end of the story to continue turning the tables on predators.

I hope you enjoy this reading. It was fun to put together. I was inspired by the scratchy 16mm films of Hong Kong cinema in years past with boldly fantastic fight scenes and sound effects that push the boundaries of belief. I thought it would be fun to put this together in similar style.
