Listen, we're all impatient, right? We want to reach our goals, arrive at our destination, reach our objective, much faster than it's taking, right?

Sometimes it can feel like a real slog...like we aren't making any progress. It can feel like we're just spinning our wheels and not getting anywhere. So let's dig into this. And stick with me cuz at the end I'll show you how you can take some big steps forwards with your online business.

Alright now, I get it -- we all want to be moving faster than we are. And maybe it's good to be impatient...that fuels us to keep pushing forward. But here's something very important to keep in mind: Direction over speed.

...that is to say, even though we all want to move faster, what's more important than speed is to ensure we're heading in the right direction.

And just as important as direction is consistency. That is, each and every day taking some kind of step, no matter how small it may seem, in the right direction.

I think of it as one of those giant staircases that goes up the side of a mountain...up to a temple...or as a giant Lego castle that's built entirely of the smallest possible bricks...or as one of those guys tunnelling out of prison, one spoonful of dirt at a time.

How do you climb that massive staircase? How do you build that massive Lego castle? How do you tunnel out of prison? One step at a time. One brick at a time. One spoonful of dirt at a time.

Each day is a limited unit of time and energy that we choose to spend as we wish. Each day is an opportunity to get you just one wee little bit closer to where you want to be.

Each day is a step. Each day is a brick. Each day is a spoonful of dirt.

Sure, days off are important. But getting lazy and wasting time keeps you stuck wherever you left off. I'd say starting out, a day off every 20-30 days is about right. Gives you a chance to mentally recharge.

I remember taking entire days off and being completely irresponsible and watching Kung Fu movies all day. Iron Monkey, House Of Flying Daggers, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon...a total brain flush.

...and then I'd come back refreshed, recharged, and ready to continue with my next step...laying my next brick...digging out my next spoonful of dirt.

Yet the faster you can move, (without burning yourself out) obviously the better. Really, the question becomes, "how much comfort you are willing to give up short term in order to reach your objective?"

Said more directly, "How badly do you want to reach your objective?"
