Part 5
A journey through Snowdonia National Park on the Welsh Highland Railway from Portmadoc to Caernarfon and return behind NGG16 class garratt No.143, the last locomotive built at Beyer Peacock's Gorton works.
Part 5 begins with the cross of the 12:30 up service behind NGG16 No.97 at Rhyd Ddu then follows No.143 climbing to summit before coasting down through the forest to Meillionen and on to Beddgelert. Apologies for the clumsy attempts to capture the reverses above Meillionen and Beddgelert, but one has to try! You can't help but smile at the sound of an SAR chime whistle.
