Part 6 begins in the cutting below Beddgelert and continues with the downhill run through Aberglaslyn Pass and on across the verdant green plains through Pont Croesor to Portmadog. On the outskirts of Portmadog the train passes the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway and crosses the Cambrian line before crossing Britannia Bridge. At Portmadog, while NGG16 No. 143 runs around, Earl of Merioneth starts her train to Bleanau Ffestiniog.

Part 5 begins with the cross of the 12:30 up service behind NGG16 No.97 at Rhyd Ddu then follows No.143 climbing to summit before coasting down through the forest to Meillionen and on to Beddgelert. Apologies for the clumsy attempts to capture the reverses above Meillionen and Beddgelert, but one has to try! You can't help but smile at the sound of an SAR chime whistle.

Lærdal tunnel between Aurland (near Flåm) and Lærdalsøyri on European highway E16 in Sogn og Fjordane, Norway.
Completed in 2000 after a 5 year excavation, the 24.5km long Lærdalstunnelen is the longest road tunnel in the world. It contains three colourfully lit 'caves' at 6km intervals, 15 heavy vehicle reversing bays, emergency stopping bays every 250m, emergency telephones every 250m and a fire extinguisher every 125m.
