How to process our emotions - How to stop fear and insecurity

One of the most important skills we can ever learn that benefits our mental and emotional health is how to process our emotions!

For most of my life, I didn’t realize we were meant to learn specific mental and emotional skills, like how to process our emotions and experiences. I didn’t know processing our emotions was a thing! And having gone through many traumas growing up, the hurts kept piling on and I was developing complex post-traumatic stress disorder without realizing it.

This means, I had picked up on, mostly subconsciously, unhealthy thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors growing up that kept developing into destructive ones. What once had kept me alive in the middle of trauma was the very thing that was now destroying my life, my relationships, and my marriage.

But in a moment of desperation, I turned to God, I discovered that Jesus teaches us everything we need to know about mental and emotional health in the Bible, and I started replacing these destructive habits with healthy ones. This not only completely healed me of all my past hurts, but it saved my marriage and I’m now well on my way to rebuilding my life! Processing our emotions and experiences is something we ought to do every day – not just to heal past wounds and traumas!
