Binh Duong is a small town in the District of Dau Tieng, in Vietnam. I list that first so you understand that this is a small rural town, not the outskirts of a big city. This is a much more traditional area of Vietnam, the area Buddhist temple youth group offers dragon dance, and Lion dance shows to “bless” your house for wealth and prosperity in the New Year. My wife and I were invited to join in on this celebration. We each had one of the Sony A77 cameras, taking pictures from different angles. The Dragon dance was one of many different performances that day, it was an entertaining day. I don’t understand anything behind the traditions of Dragon, or Lion Dances, but they are fun to watch.
