This timeline shows the major earthquakes (6 and up on Richter scale) registered since 1901. By locations and magnitude categories.

Note that in the 1920s more 6+ quakes are registered than 7+ category, and from the 50s more quakes overall are registered. It reflects improvements in science and technology as time goes by.
