What are boundaries for business owners? Simply put, boundaries tell you, and other people, what your limits are. In other words, how far will you go to accommodate a client (or employee), and where do you draw the line?

If your answer is some cliche like "I'll do whatever it takes.." or "the customer is always right" ...then you have no business boundaries. Whether you admit it now or not, this will become a huge liability for your business and your personal life.  One of my favorite proverbs says:

"A person who lacks self-control is like a city with broken-down walls."

-Proverbs 25:28

This is essentially describing a person who has no boundaries. There's no point at which they'll say that they can't, or won't, accommodate a request that's either out of their skillset or not consistent with their principles. This is why having and keeping standards is an important part of being an entrepreneur.

Case in point, compromising your standards with a client is often a foreshadowing of a failed or mediocre project. Sometimes, it's smarter to fire a client or decline working with them from the start. This is what I mean by boundaries for business owners. Listen to this podcast for more details.
