Chicken has midnight snack

The owner was in her house with her family watching TV when they saw something dash across the floor so fast that they couldn’t tell what it was, so they started to scream. Without knowing what it was, or where it had gone, they had quickly gotten their cat Roxy to try to find it, even though she has no hunting abilities or experience. By then they had lost where they went but Roxy had run over to the stove and was guarding it. Then all of a sudden the mouse came running out from underneath the stove, and she started to hit it around the floor, but didn’t kill it. Cora (the dog) came over and distracted her and Roxy lost track of it and by the time Cora left it was under the piano. So Roxy, Cora and the owner’s dad all got down and started to look under the side table beside the piano but couldn’t see anything, so they had to move they VERY heavy piano to come to find out that it had been in the house awhile because it left a lot of mouse droppings. But…. After all that work it wasn't under there, or, so they thought. So they went back to what they were doing and then it came back to say hi, but ran under the couch where they were sitting, and they freaked out again. So they get up, move the couch, Cora runs under the couch, the mouse runs under the curtains, and as soon as they shine a light on it, it runs towards Cora, and Cora jumps up and runs away so fast. They then got a hold of it in a container to bring out to the chickens to feast on but also to make sure it wasn't alive anymore. After bringing it out to the chicken coop, the owner then woke up her chickens and dropped the mouse out of the container onto the floor. With Peck being the most alert at that time, she quickly snatched it up before any of the other chickens even got a chance at it. With the mouse dangling out of Peck’s beak, she then proceeded to whack the already lifeless mouse against the ground. After confirming it was dead, she swung it up and swallowed the little mouse whole. The owner left the coop, not knowing how to feel.
