An amateur rugby team’s brand new all-weather artificial grass pitch was ruined and left looking “like a crumpled rug” – by heavy rain. Derby Rugby Club bosses were stunned when they saw their £400,000 3G playing surface warped by the recent floods. The club’s ground, which is next to the River Derwent in Derby, was hit by days of torrential rain and storms which have battered the UK.
