Firewood Charity Warms Hearts of Needy
Occurred on October 24, 2019 / Washington, USA
Info from Licensor: "Washington man known as 'Robin Wood', faces over a quarter million dollars in fines for recruiting hundreds of volunteers to split donated firewood for the needy and recruit hundreds of children, scouts troops and youth groups to deliver it for the holidays. After the local government received a massive backlash, they have recanted their fines and are allowing Shane McDaniel to continue with his original holiday schedule, delivering all the wood to the neediest chimneys by Christmas Day. Remember, this wood is not for sale, it is only given away. Much of it earmarked for the elderly, the disabled, the vets, the single moms, and the sick. But more often than not, we knock on the door of cancer. And trust me there is a cold child, veteran, disabled, or elderly person who will be thankful for this gift. My way to inspire a child is to have them stack and give firewood as a gift of holiday warmth. The connection between the youth and the recipients is often tear welling. That connection will no doubt make a difference in many of these kids and inspire them to give back as adults and even teach their kids to give back. Every wheelbarrow load will heat a family for 2-3 nights. So fear not, we are on track to deliver to all the chimneys by Christmas Day."
