Spectacular Meteor Outburst set the New Mexico skies Ablaze

A fireball burst over southern New Mexico on saturday morning, igniting the sky with an explosion of light .Dozens of phone calls have been made to the observatory after people reported 'a giant fireball' above south-western New Mexico. The fireball is believed to have been a meteor that entered the Earth's atmosphere. The spectacular flare at the end of the video, comparable to the brightness of the full Moon, indicates a catastrophic break-up of the meteor body. This event wasn't related to any known meteor shower.
