Monday evening Leawood city leaders will review a proposal to help pay for the renovation of Ranchmart North shopping plaza with sales tax dollars. The owners of the mall at 95th Street and Mission Road have proposed creating a community improvement district (CID). Sales tax from items sold within the district would increase by 1 percent. The developers hope to generate $13 million through the CID to help fund the $47 million mall upgrade.
