If you’re looking for a video that will make you squeal out loud with pure, unadulterated joy, then this video of a tiny Dachshund puppy mastering fetch is definitely the way to go! This wee fetcher—who may actually be earning his credits as a Retriever, Golden or otherwise—is like a burst of sunlight with his obvious happiness in attaining one of the simplest, but nevertheless the most entertaining, of all canine skills.

Not every dog likes to play fetch, but the ones who do are a delight to have around, sure to perk us up from even the dullest of doldrums as they exhibit crystal clear happiness in the little things—and they serve as a wonderful reminder that it truly is the little things in life that tend to make us the happiest. Little things like playing fetch with an eager-to-please pup, for example. And we haven’t even mentioned his insanely adorable, flippity floppity ears yet! Or his totally charming little lopsided run!

The puppy in this video may not be old enough yet to run with the grace and speed of a full-grown dog, but we wouldn’t want to see him any other way. It reminds us of warm summer days outside in the grass, our beloved doggie companion by our side, thinking about nothing more than how best to enjoy this precise moment. Or golden afternoons at the dog park, watching our beloved pooches enjoy themselves as much as they were ever meant to. This little guy is clearly having the time of his life, and you’ll have the time of your life—or, at least, the best six seconds of your entire day—just by watching him. It’s enough to want to make you cancel your next meeting and put off that email to your boss you were supposed to get around to, just so you can watch this clip over and over and over again.

We’re hoping that you’ve already hit the Play button by now—but if you haven’t, there’s no better time than the present. It’s also worth turning up the volume a wee bit so you can bask fully in the canine goodness you’re about to behold. And then maybe head over to the pet store after work, so you can pick up a new fetching ball for your own catered-to canine. After all, doesn’t he deserve a little treat?
