Biography
Lisa Ferrara is a current member of the Riverdale Public School Board of Education with a degree in Accounting from Kutztown University. She was first elected in 2022 and is at the end of her first term and has served on the Health, Policy and Transportation/Facilities/Technology Committees. As a 20 year resident of Riverdale, an active coach for the PLRSA (soccer association) for about 10 years, a mom of three girls, who have all attended Riverdale school (one attending County College of Morris, one a junior in Pompton Lakes High School and a 6th grader at Riverdale,) she understands both the importance of high-quality education, and the economic impact BOE decisions have on Riverdale families and the Community. She's running to: 1) Build trust through increased transparency, open, honest communication, collaboration and community involvement 2) Spend every dollar prudently, with purpose 3) Support/retain our educators through prioritizing their feedback and empowering them to get back to basics and focus solely on curriculum 4) Bring back the student Science fair as part of the curriculum, bring back TREPS to support growing entrepreneurs with creative minds and foster student/community involvement. 5) Update the District’s Strategic Plan with action nights engaging all stakeholders of the Riverdale School.
Lisa Ferrara is constantly educating herself to help better serve the district, is interested in getting to know everyone and is willing to speak to you and connect so she can better serve you in this great, small town of Riverdale and see your children thrive.
