Love Fights, Truth Frees, Boldness Saves: Little Loaves and Big Miracles

Today I want to stir into you bold obedience. I want to remind you that God has already given you authority, that He is calling you into His river, and that the small, faithful acts you do will multiply in ways you cannot imagine. This is a call to stop sitting on the shore, to quit clinging to the bank, and to roll onto your back so the current of the Holy Spirit can carry you into the eddy where your blessing waits.

God's River and the Safety of Letting Go

We often think safety is found by holding on, by grabbing the nearest branch, or by trying to control every outcome. But I learned in survival training what the river already teaches: if you grab the bank in a violent rapid, the current will pull you under. The safest place is to flip onto your back and let the river carry you. Spiritually, that river is the flow of God. He is not calling you merely to paddle; He's calling you to trust His current.

Get in the river. Let go of your understanding and follow the Spirit. You were given authority in Christ. You were bought with a price. So stop living like a slave to fear and start living like one who has been purchased and empowered.

Words, Prayers and the Power of Simple Obedience

Let me tell you about five strangers who changed my life. I had been a Christian for only a month and I was afraid to pray out loud. Then five people, people I barely knew, sat around me and prayed one simple prayer for my wife. That night I saw what unconditional love looks like in action. Their prayers opened a door for my wife and changed the trajectory of our lives.

From my point of view, that prayer was monumental. From their point of view, it was ordinary. They did what believers do. They prayed. They spoke a simple thing and allowed God to move. Your words matter. Your willingness to speak—even when you feel inadequate—can become the means God uses to bring someone into life.

The time has come for ordinary actions to produce extraordinary results.

Obedience is better than sacrifice

Do not wait to be perfect in doctrine or eloquent in speech. Obedience is what God honors. If the Lord prompts you to pray for a neighbor, simply pray. If He nudges you to speak into someone's life, speak. God uses ordinary obedience to release extraordinary miracles.

Five Loaves, Two Fish: The Pattern of Multiplication

The story of the five loaves and two fish is not only a miracle; it is a pattern for how God multiplies what we bring to Him. Jesus challenged Philip by asking, "Where shall we buy bread for these people?" He wanted faith. There was a little boy with five barley loaves and two fish. That was all. Not nearly enough.

But here is the crucial detail: Jesus gave thanks for the bread, broke it, and handed it to His twelve. He did not hand every person a pre-multiplied portion. As the disciples distributed the bread, the miracle unfolded piece by piece. As one person received, another piece appeared in the hands of the distributor. The multiplication happened through distribution and obedience.

Take what you have and put it into the Lord's hands.
Give thanks and obey His direction.
Distribute what you have—even if it seems insufficient.

As they distributed, the loaves multiplied. When the people had eaten their fill, twelve baskets of leftovers remained. God hates waste. He honors faith and returns overflow.

A Testimony of Radical Giving: Empty Wallet, Overflowing Return

I want to be vulnerable with you. Michaela and I are faithful tithers and we give off the top, 10% of everything that comes in.  In addition we regularly give offerings. With our ministry assignments, we had travel expenses still left and new expenses and bills pressing in. Yet God told me, at a conference this weekend, to empty my wallet and sow everything I had. it wasn't a small amount and on the surface we couldn't afford to give.  I obeyed anyway. I walked up and poured it out, believing God to multiply it. Less than 12 hours later, an unsolicited gift arrived— exactly twenty times what we had sowed the night before. Every outstanding bill was covered. Future travel prepaid and Leftovers, just like the 12 baskets. This is not prosperity by manipulation. This is God's economy: give from the heart, expect multiplication, and then watch Him exceed your imagination.

This principle goes beyond money. When God asks you to pray, to love, to forgive, to risk saying a word of life to someone in the grocery store, do it. The river of God uses your five loaves. Your small faith becomes the conduit for a miracle.

Be Bold. Be Loving. Be Apostolic.

There is a tension some of you feel: How can I be bold and still be loving? The answer: boldness without love is a war without purpose; love without boldness is sentiment without rescue. Real love confronts lies. The prophets did not whisper truth to remain popular. They shouted truth to free people from deception.

Love fights for truth even when it offends. You do not attack the person; you attack the lie. Expose the deception and reach into the darkness to pull someone into the light. When you confront deceit with compassion, you save people from long-term harm. Proverbs says, "Open rebuke is better than secret love."

Be apostolic in the simple things: go, pray, give, and speak the words God gives you. An apostle is simply one who is sent. You may not be famous. You may not be a leader in the world’s eyes, but when you are sent in obedience to Jesus, you change culture one life at a time.

Practical steps to apostolic living
Listen daily for the Spirit’s promptings and obey quickly.
Pray for the people God places in your path—neighbors, coworkers, family.
Give cheerfully when God asks you to sow. The pattern is sow and reap; give and receive.
Speak concise, faith-filled words into people's situations.
Stand firm in truth with compassion. Confront lies, not people.
Prophetic Encouragement: The Koala Bear Illustration

At the gathering this weekend, we did prophetic activations where partners would receive an animal word from God. I kept seeing giraffes, but when I met my partner God showed me a koala. It may sound strange, but the koala image carried a powerful message: this sister was built to climb higher than others, to feed on what is poisonous to others but is her sustenance, to be resilient in difficult places.

The Lord told her: climb higher, be a warrior, do not fear. The koala eats eucalyptus leaves—poisonous to most—but sustains the koala. Spiritually, you are equipped to thrive where others cannot because God has gifted you with a unique sustenance. Climb one limb at a time; take one faithful step after another. God will lift you higher.

There are many of you today who are that koala—made to climb and to be resilient. You have strength you do not yet perceive. God is inviting you to rise.

Prepare for Shaking and Stand in Faith

We are living in times of shaking. Financial foundations are changing. Banks and institutions will tremble. The world’s systems will not be reliable anchors. God is training His people now to live by faith so that when the storms come, we are unshaken. He will ask for radical trust: give the last can of beans to your neighbor and watch God replace it with more than you imagined.

Trust and obedience are not reckless. They are the posture of one who knows God will keep His promises. When He calls you to step, step. When He asks you to give, give. God’s economy is upside down to the world, but when you operate in His kingdom, you will see multiplication and leftovers.

How to start right now
Write a list of unsaved family members and friends. Pray for them daily and ask God to send them to Jesus.
Practice small acts of faith: offer to pray for a stranger, give sacrificially into ministries that bless you, speak a kind prophetic word when prompted.
Get in the river. Decide this week to obey three promptings from the Spirit, however small.
Stop waiting for perfect courage. Obedience produces courage; do it once and you will want to do it again.

Final Word: Bold Love and Daily Obedience

On our live calls (which these posts are the summary of) I push as hard as I do because I love with fierce love. I push because I believe God put incredible deposits inside of you that were meant to be released. If you will obey, even when you do not feel like it, God will produce a long-lasting joy that far outweighs momentary discomfort. Get in the river. Empty your hands to the Lord. Speak the small words He puts in your mouth. Pray for the neighbor. Give what He asks. Climb the tree He has set before you—one pull at a time.

Be bold and be loving. Confront the lie, rescue the besieged and deceived. 

Be a compassionate warrior and a prophetic voice. The time has come for ordinary actions to produce extraordinary results. The world cannot remake itself without the church doing what Jesus told us to do. Be the sent ones. Do the words in red. Watch God multiply your five loaves and fill the baskets with leftovers.
