Recently, the unfunny Jimmy Kimmel & the morbidly obese Governor of Illinois J. B Pritzker inadvertently assisted Republicans in their debate w/ the Democrats over crime, a debate that the Republicans are winning in a rout.

According to Chicago PD, the city suffered 5,989 murders from 2016-24, which is a murder rate of 24.562 per 100,000.

[NOTE: I used the 2022 report for the 2021 number of murders (and so on) as usually those numbers are adjusted slightly in the next year’s report]

According to the FBI, https://archive.ph/D9Cxi Chicago City had 5,188 murders from 2016-24. That’s (population = 24,382,374) a murder rate of 21.277 per 100,000. This is quite different from Chicago PD; I’m guessing years from now the totals will be adjusted & the truth is somewhere in the middle – but for now this is the best I can do.

By contrast, https://archive.ph/fhDZw the FBI puts the U.S. murder rate at (population = 2,977,403,910 & 166,157 murders) 5.580 per 100,000 from 2016-24. Chicago’s murder rate is only 3.8X HIGHER than the U.S. murder rate.

The morbidly-obese Governor J.B. Pritzker was obviously not broadcasting from the Englewood neighborhood & I doubt Jeffrey Epstein’s friend Jimmy Kimmel* & prominent guest at Epstein Island has never spent any time in South Central Los Angeles or Englewood either. Chicago, much like the United States has some safe areas (where Governor Pricker was grandstanding from) & some areas that are not so safe. Most of the U.S. is safe. I’d wager about one-third of the population commits 80% of the murders, Chicago City is included in that one-third.

According to the Chicago PD, (see their 2024 report) in 2023 – 11 of their 25 Districts contributed (25,15, 3-11) 513 of the 621 (82.6%) murders in the City. In 2024, those same Districts had (459 of 580) 79.13% of all murders in the City. Nice job!

I’m not sure what % of the City’s population resides in those Districts, but I’d wager it’s safe to say that far less than 50% of Chicago’s population typically commits ~80% of the murders, the other half less than 20%.

Remember what I said about U.S. counties!

Here’s another point from Chicago PD for Mr. Pricker’s numerous chins & Jimmy Kimmel’s lying eyes & forked tongue. “In 2023 and 2024, the majority of murder victims were Black, accounting for 77% (481 of 621) in 2023 and 74% (430 of 580) in 2024.” The vast majority (~85+%) of people arrested in Chicago tend to be “people of color”, so if Chicago’s perpetual violent crime problem is solved, it will save Black & Brown people from being murdered by other Black & Brown people.
