49 million slaves

Ghosts and ghouls are roaming the street,
Children laugh with candy to eat,
But there’s a silence the world won’t face,
Chains still rattle in a hidden place.

While we dress in costumes, trick or treat,
Millions live where freedom can’t reach.

49 million slaves in the night,
Trapped in darkness, out of sight.
Halloween’s a game, but the truth is scarier—
The real horror lives much nearer.

Masks of monsters, fake blood stains,
But somewhere real hands are bound in chains.
Behind the curtain, across the seas,
People cry with unheard pleas.

Pumpkins glow, but the shadows say,
The nightmare’s real and it’s here today.

49 million slaves in the night,
Trapped in darkness, out of sight.
Halloween’s a thrill, but the truth cuts heavier—
The real horror lives much nearer.

No ghost, no ghoul, no witch’s spell,
Is worse than a living human hell.
Let the costumes fade, let the truth be shown,
The scariest thing is what we condone.

49 million slaves still cry,
While we carve pumpkins under the sky.
Halloween’s pretend, but the truth is scarier—
The real horror lives much nearer.
