"Similarly, Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (M.E.) doesn't describe the essence of the (SEID) disorder. Although many people advocated for it, it actually doesn't apply to what we defined" - Ellen Wright Clayton

The IOM Committee want to rename Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Systemic Exertion Intolerance Disorder. Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (also known as Enteroviral Encephalomyelitis) doesn't describe CFS. M.E. is "EXCLUDED" from SEID Algorithm.

Frank Twisk (2017) stated that "M.E." (also known as Enteroviral Encephalomyelitis) and CFS are different illnesses, with "M.E." (also known as Enteroviral Encephalomyelitis) resulting in a "Neuromuscular Disorder" and CFS being partially overlapping fatigue-based illnesses, and that it was not possible to replace both "M.E." (also known as Enteroviral Encephalomyelitis) and "Chronic Fatigue Syndromes" with a single diagnostic entity. Frank Twisk also stated that "SEID" included some patients that did not meet either "M.E." (also known as Enteroviral Encephalomyelitis) or "CFS" non-diagnostic criteria"
