Lotta Problems If You Run Like This

A few weeks ago I did a short series on shin splints and how poor running form leads to shin splints (also plantar fasciitis and runners knee). Here's an example of what I was referring to. The issue is mechanics of the foot and ankle that actually often starts with the hip not moving the way it should. The ankle pronation that's causing lower leg issues is generally due to the internal rotation of the knee. In this case, the ankle and foot have adapted as well and plant like so now. The way to help correct this is improving hip mobility and flexibility by taking care of the soft tissue (massage) and stretching hip and lower leg muscles. Then when have to build proper strength of the hips and lower leg trhough exercise. The strengthening of those muscles also allows the proper neuromuscular (coordination and movement pattern) adaptations to occur to correct motor patterns- in this case, running form. Hope this helps! Message me on Instagram for specific questions
