Owners of Holmes Beach treehouse file lawsuit to stop $65,000 in city fines

Richard Hazen and Lynn Tran have filed a lawsuit to stop daily city fines after they refuse to take down their backyard treehouse. The treehouse was built in 2011. The couple said they were told they did not need a permit. They applied for an after-the-fact permit with the city, but were denied.
