“Is it normal for soaked nuts to take 48 hours to dehydrate?”

Yes... it really is. 😊

Leslie asked this recently after prepping a big batch—and we get this question all the time! If you’ve ever felt like your soaked almonds or walnuts are never going to get crispy, you’re not alone.

A few things can make dehydrating take longer:
🥶 Cold or humid weather
🌧️ Moisture in the air
👐 Thicker or bigger nuts
💦 Longer soak time (they absorb more water)
🍽️ A crowded dehydrator tray

All that to say... if it’s taking you close to 48 hours, that’s okay. Mine often take that long, too. The goal is just to dry them until they’re dry—crisp, light, and no longer chewy. That’s it.

No need to stress. Just keep going till they’re how you like them.
