Weight Is Not All That Matters

Getting hung up on the number on your weight scale can really mess with your head, heart, and drive. When you start thinking things like "I have to weigh this much to be okay" or "A higher number means I’m a total flop," you’re setting yourself up for a rough time. Those kinds of thoughts make you feel anxious, ashamed, or even worthless every time the scale doesn’t show what you want. It’s like letting a little machine decide your value. That can tank your confidence, stress you out, and make you obsess over food or your body in unhealthy ways. Plus, it kills your motivation. Why keep trying if the scale feels like a judgey enemy? Instead, try Focusing on the process. Are you eating cleaner? Are you snacking? Are you doing your workouts consistently? Track the behaviors you know you need to do and let that be a more accurate barometer.

The scale also cannot differentiate between fat, water, muscle, and glycogen which all fluctuate daily. My clients that find they have a negative relationship always do better ignoring the scale.
