Ann Arbor, MI activist Henry Herskovitz revisits his classic article “The Role Of Jews In The Palestinian Solidarity Movement.” Born Jewish, Henry Herskovitz tendered his resignation from the Tribe after an eye-opening trip to Occupied Palestine. For 20 years he has been leading weekly “Witnesses for Peace” demonstrations outside the synagogue he used to attend. The demonstrations became increasingly controversial as Henry researched such topics as 9/11 and the Holocaust and came to doubt those and other Jewish supremacist narratives, and began protesting with signs reflecting such concerns. He was sued by local Jews backed by big money, but prevailed in court, winning a huge victory for the First Amendment. Their home was visited one night by a Jewish paramilitary group (Stern Gang, I believe) in 1948 and were told they should leave or they would be killed. They left for Lebanon, and later he came to the U-S as a young exchange student. He became a professor and journalist, with many Jewish friends, including me. He would read the Jerusalem Post and Ha'Eretz as well as Arab newspapers. One day I asked him how he could bear no hatred. He told me everyone had suffered, too many had died, and then said, "I have only one life to live, and I will not be consumed by this madness." The rest is up to us as audiences to determine whose rights were violated, who the opressor is/was and what type of response is/was acceptable by the Palestinians and still holds because this is still an ongoing conflict. It's a matter of morals and being fair no matter what the circumstances are and who is involved. No reasonable human would split their home with a stranger let alone the sacredness of the land to Arabs (of all religions in that region). This documentary shows that this is not a Muslim vs Jewish conflict, it is Zionist vs Arab of all religions conflict. The fact that they were open to choose Argentina or Uganda is actually ridiculous. Yeah, let's pick somebody's land and make it ours. Today's version of this story is Russia vs Ukraine and nobody would think twice before condemning Russia's actions. The Tantura massacre took place on the night of 22–23 May 1948 during the 1948 Arab–Israeli War, when around 40-200 Palestinian Arab villagers from Tantura were massacred by the Israeli Defense Force's Alexandroni Brigade. The massacre occurred following Tantura's surrender, a village of roughly 1,500 people in 1945 located near Haifa. The victims were buried in a mass grave, which today serves as a car park for the nearby Tel Dor beach. Oral testimonies by surviving Palestinians were met by skepticism. A corroborative 1988 thesis by an Israeli Haifa University graduate Theodore Katz, who interviewed survivors, was also met with denial. In 2022 an Israeli documentary film called Tantura, several Israeli veterans interviewed said they had witnessed a massacre at Tantura after the village had surrendered. In 2023 Forensic Architecture published its commissioned investigation of the area and concluded that there were three potential gravesites in the area of the Tel Dor beach that were connected to a massacre.

Out of 700 international films submitted to the 4th Ammar Popular Film Festival in Tehran, Iran, in January, 2014, our film, Christian Zionism: The Tragedy & The Turning, Part 1, has been given a special award along with two other documentaries. This film exposes what should be three, obvious truths: 1. The US has a war based economy that is dependent upon the support for its many wars by Christians under the influence of Christian Zionism. 2. Christian Zionism is a corruption of traditional Christianity that has been promoted for just over 100 years, through the Scofield Reference Bible. 3. The Palestinians have been under a brutal military occupation by Israel since 1967. An example of this brutality was an Israeli attack on Gaza that killed four and wounded 40 in 2002, that was witnessed, videoed and reported by Charles E. Carlson, the Writer/Director of this documentary. This attack was four years before Hamas came to power and 12 years before Israel's current attack on Gaza, "Operation Protective Edge."
