  • Stephen Miller put it Brilliantly but my poor memory of it, can't hold a candle to his eloquence. These appointed minor judges are NOT part of the nationally, democratically elected executive office. POTUS is the only office in the land that is elected nationally to that chief executive office IOT enact the will of the people.

  • That label, "Credentialed Class," much better that "elite." Way to go Roger Kimball. I hope we can make it stick.

  • Hello, why are citizens or the executive branch entertaining hot air from the judiciary no brains?

  • the "credentialled class" are as dumb as bricks. they got their "credentials" by lowering standards and awading degrees in nonsense. i don't think they've even read the constitution. and if they have - their comprehension skills are lacking. they are in need of an exam to test their cognitive abilities, or lack thereof. agree 100% w/you KIMBALL - all we can do at this point is laugh at their nonsense. they're like henny penny running around the country screeching "the sky is falling - the sky is falling." lol

  • I see I got a thumbs down. The Federal Government is chiefly concerned with only three policy lanes and none of them have anything to do with culture. These are Fiscal, Foreign and Monetary policy. These three broad categories are important due to how neatly they align with the Trilemma of International Finance (aka The Unholy Trinity), which is vitally important in managing the dollars hegemony. Because the dollar is the global reserve the overlap goes something like this, debt and interest rates (Fiscal Policy), capital controls (Foreign policy), stable exchange rates (Monetary policy). It's important to note that the dollar floats due to it's reserve status, leaving our trade partners to manage exchange rates, hence the monetary policy connection. Effectively, the United States has no sovereign monetary policy. US Fiscal policy (ie domestic spending) is funded with debt by design, in order to create a supply of Treasuries for dollar recycling... the Triffin Paradox. If the demand for Treasuries outpaces supply then social programs must be expanded or new ones must be created, requiring new issuance of Treasuries. For example, the 2008 housing crisis was preceded by an increase in demand for Treasuries in the mid 90's (while already at the debt ceiling) due to China's MFN status and increased offshoring to China under the pressure of record high corporate taxes. The Clinton administration told China to buy mortgage backed securities, but the supply wasn't great enough to meet Chinese demand. So Clinton expanded loan programs by lowering requirements. Don't be fooled, this was all planned and coordinated and Republicans didn't utter a peep. Instead they impeached Clinton for inappropriate behavior with an intern, when he was guilty of the largest fraud in US History. Don't get distracted, culture war issues are nothing but a side show both parties use to distract low information voters from the true objective and the inevitable consequences.
