Texas CBP Officer Arrested For Smuggling Illegal Migrants, Drugs Into The Country

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem is saying that Manuel Perez Jr. will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, after the CBP officer was arrested for allegedly smuggling illegal migrants and drugs into the country.
Perez was arrested in El Paso, Texas on criminal charges related to his alleged involvement in the smuggling crimes for financial gain between Dec. 2023, and Feb. 2025.
According to court documents the 32-year-old allowed vehicles driven by illegal migrants – to pass through ports of entry
Perez is being charged with one count of conspiracy to bring aliens to the US for financial gain, three counts of bringing aliens to the United States for financial gain, and one count of conspiracy to possess a controlled substance with intent to distribute. He faces 10 years to life behind bars.
