The federal government is a joke. I remember back in the 80's i worked as a machine tool electrician in the maintenance department of a Detroit area stamping plant. OSHA would frequently come into the plant to do an "inspection" They would write up the company for BS stuff like having a tool rest that was a fraction of an inch too far away from a grinding wheel and similar crap. We had a big belt sander that sat on the floor. It had been there for 40 years with no problem. OSHA insisted we put a guard on it... then they insisted we put a tool rest on it. A week later one of my co-workers lost his thumb because of the OSHA order modifications. Nobody had ever been hurt using that sander before. Meanwhile, they never bothered to notice important things. We had two giant ovens that we used for drying parts. They were each big enough to drive a truck into. They operated on RX gas. One time the oven stopped working and I was sent out to fix it. I checked the usual things to no avail and so got out the 40 year old schematic that was faded and difficult to read and started tracing the circuits. I discovered that one of the safety switches was not working. It was the purge switch. The purge switch is the one that makes sure that the exhaust fan would run for several minutes to insure that the oven was not filled with gas before it was fired up. I told the department head that we needed a new purge switch. He asked me to bypass it for now so that we could use the oven until a new purge switch came in. I refused. I pointed out to him that there was 5 different safety switches on the oven and all but this one had been bypassed long ago and never replaced. If they were to have fired up that oven without first insuring it was purged of gas it could have caused an explosion that would have leveled the plant and maybe the surrounding neighborhood. All those OSHA inspections never caught that. They were too worried about the tool rests on the grinders.

When it comes to federal employees, I do not care what what someone's religion is, or even if they have a religion. I do not care what gender they are, I do not care about their identity or their personal life. I only care about two things. First, is their job even necessary. Second, if their job is necessary, are they the best person for the job and are they honest.

All government spending isn't what any person wants. If we wanted to, we'd donate, buy or volunteer. Government is 100% forced consumption of our labor, and with debt spending, the parasites literally are consuming the future labor of our children.

Food inspectors, like the TSA, are just a way to make our labor fund those jobs on behalf of Big Food that should itself ensure that their food is good or they'll be sued out of existence.
