SOUL’S GOLD in the garden!!!

The polyculture row garden took an early frost hit! Man down! Haha you know growing food aint easy. This was my first ever attempt. Although I learned so much from this experience, I have to admit I was not as productive as I’d like to have been. This early flash frost took out probably 40% of my crops. I was only watching the first freeze date, and not the 10 day forecast. Growing annual non-native food in rows like this instead of growing native perennial guilds is SO MUCH WORK! And it really requires a lot of input comparatively. In this video, I wax a bit about all the inputs and plans for the space. Despite not having enough fertility to grow much, and starting too late, the process of regeneration was well underway... Which means FERTILITY IS COMING!!

Have a watch to hear about everything I tried! In a nutshell: a cover crop, woodchips, compost, electroculture and 3 different microbial solutions! That’s a lot of inputs for not much return. Chemicals are not the future of growing food, permaculture is the future!
